Summer Garden Competition 2025
We’ll be holding our Summer Gardening Competition in July 2025.
There will be 5 categories:
1. Best Front Garden.
2. Best Front Gardens and containers/baskets/window box display.
3. Best Containers and Pots
4. Best Front Wall
5. Best Wildlife Garden
Free Entry; all Parish properties automatically entered.
The aim is to encourage and reward front garden and front of house gardening that enhances the local scene and brings happiness and inspiration to our neighbours.
We are looking for evidence of:
• Use of plants to bring colour and form to a front garden and front of house areas.
• Sustainable gardening practice.
• Promoting wildlife.
Judging will take place in July 2025 by HWPC, Cllr Kim Last and Mike Waugh of Deans - Yorkshire Garden Centre, who are sponsoring the event and providing the winners with Gift Vouchers. We are mindful of the current hot weather and possible water shortages, so please water your gardens with this in mind. Where possible we encourage rain captured water to be used. Decisions will be made before Septembers Parish Council meeting.
